If you’ve been keeping up with the site for awhile you may or may not be familiar with the band Points North. I did a piece on them a few years ago you can see here and they were featured as a more mellow contributor on the volume 1 compilation we did last year. Well continuing in the tradition of good news for bands we’re friends with this year, Points North is releasing their new album ‘Road Less Traveled’ via Magna Carta Records. Yes they also got signed to a label so that’s pretty cool. I’d also like to mention since I last spoke about the band they have a new bassist by the name of Uriah Duffy who spent time playing for Whitesnake among a ton of other artists over the years. So yes it’s turning out to be a great year for a band that has opened for the likes of Blue Oyster Cult and Michael Schenker and influenced by artists like Rush, Yes, Satriani etc. Check out the new album here and if you’re in the Bay Area be sure to get your tickets for the release party at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on March 9th. Check out their Facebook page for more info on that.
