Any metal band in the 80’s on up knew they were successful if they could afford Marshall stacks. Those bad boys are what gives the music the power and volume metal heads crave. Now that’s not to say there weren’t other genres of rock music that thrived due to the use of Marshall amps. But whenever would be metal musicians would talk gear the question was always asked what type of stacks were used and if the other guy did not say Marshalls it was a bit disappointing. So it’s with a bit of sadness today to hear that Marshall founder, Jim Marshall passed away at the age of 88. R.I.P. the Father of Loud. Metal would not have been the same without your innovations.
