First, I have to give a big thank you to my buddy Rod in Los Angeles. He finds some pretty cool bands out there and always shares them with me. So thank you, Rod. Which brings me to SINBREED. Formed in 2008 out of Germany by guitarist and keyboardist Flo Laurin, he is joined with drummer Frederik Ehmke (former Blind Guardian), bassist Alex Shulz, and vocalist Hernie Langhans (formerly Seventh Avenue), Laurin’s project has been in the making since the late 1990’s. According to the band’s website: “The blistering combination of speed, melodic and agressive arrangements combined with high and soaring vocals characterizes Sinbreed’s distinctive power metal”.
In 2009 Germany’s Heavy Magazine voted SINBREED Best Newcomer of the Month and shortly thereafter a deal was made with Sweden’s Ulterium Records and the band started work right away on their debut album “When World’s Collide“. The album was produced by Markus Teske who has produced albums for Symphony X, Vanden Plas and Neal Morse to name a few. Guests on the album include Thomas Rettke (ex-Heaven’s Gate), Joost van Den Broek (Ayreon, Star One), and Morten Sandager (Pretty Maids).
From their debut album here is “Dust to Dust” and “Newborn Tomorrow”.
