Unfortunately, Jag Panzer called it quits in 2011 after 30 years of slogging away in the Metal trenches. Certainly during their career they had some outstanding highs (Thane to the Throne) and unexplainable lows (Dissident Alliance). Their debut album, Ample Destruction however, holds a place dear in many metalheads’ hearts – mine included, and it is simply one of the best original American Power Metal albums and an all-around crushing affair. Straight through from Licensed to Kill to The Crucifix, this album will own you. This album epitomizes the best of mid-80s Power Metal from front to back. It’s too bad Jag Panzer hung it up, especially because their recent (2000s) output has been outstanding, but Ample Destruction will always be my favorite by them.
Check out one of their all time top tracks, Harder Than Steel:
I hear the sound in a METAL way.
